Pedro Martinez Has Serious Praise For Brayan Bello

If you’re being praised by Pedro Martines, you’re probably doing something right. The Red Sox might have a real star on their hands with Brayan Bello.

Hey, Red Sox fans. I’m going to need you to sit down.

Are you sitting down?

Are you sure?

Okay, here we go.

“Brayan Bello is another kid that has the potential to be a Cy Young type of pitchers in the future,” Martinez said.

“It only brings back good memories of who I was and how I was,” Martinez said. “This one was brought up out of necessity by the Red Sox, a little bit prematurely. But he’s starting to make the adjustment. It’s just too bad he that he had to be brought up before he actually could really get the sense of what he needed to do in the big leagues, and he’s having to learn at the big league level.”

“He’s basically learning by his mistakes in the big leagues, which is something that sounds a little bit unfair to such a young, talented pitcher,” Martinez said. “But sometimes, the struggles will make you lift up your head and come back and fight. Take a punch, and you punch back.”

Don’t tease me anymore. My heart can’t handle it. Pedro comparing Bello to himself? I may be in love. I need Cy Young’s in my future. I need future ace in the hole for any playoff game type stuff. I need Bello to be a star in the worst way because this team hasn’t had a homegrown pitcher since Jon Lester / Clay Buchholtz. Yes, it’s been that long.

It remains to be seen what the rest of the Red Sox 2023 starting rotation will look like. The only thing that this clear is that Boston is going to be counting on Bello to be a stud. The pressure is on. Pedro put his stamp of approval. It’s going to be interesting to see what’s to come.

In conclusion: Bello = Good.

Josh Winckowski = Terrible.
