Pederson Considering Benching Lawrence

Jaguar’s head coach, Doug Pederson, seems to be willing to do anything to turn the Jaguar’s season around. Even shocking things, revolving around Trevor Lawrence

After Jacksonville’s 47-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills last night, coach Pederson seemed to insinuate that he is considering benching quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Per ESPN, Pederson said, “There has to be changes, whether it’s play design, personnel, everything…everything’s on the table, let’s call it, and those are all things that I have to look at, we have to look at as a staff and make the adjustments.

When asked if he would change which players are starting, Pederson said, “You say everything is on the table, we’ve got to take a look at injury. Tonight, we had some guys injured. It could be moved that way. It could be performance. It’s all things we have to evaluate as we move forward.”

If Pederson does decide to bench Trevor Lawrence, it would be truly shocking. This is because the Jaguars just gave Lawrence a huge five-year, $275 Million contract extension. So benching him would be a big waste of money. Jacksonville’s backup is former first round pick Mac Jones, who was selected by the Patriots back in 2021. He was put in during yesterday’s Monday night game, and went 5-8 for 22 and a fumble.

Trevor Lawrence has not impressed this season at all. He is 47-89 with 560 yards, with two touchdowns and an interception. He has most certainly not been the messiah once promised. Although, he does have the hair of a certain one that comes to mind.

With the team starting 0-3, some changes surely need to be made for the Jags to turn this season around. I’m not sure benching T-Law will fix everything if anything. But he, and every other player, definitely needs to step it up.
