Pat Riley got to face the curtain today when he spoke to reporters today in his exit interview. You know, because the Heat are at home and everything because the Boston Celtics were just destined for the Finals. But hey, that’s a story for another day.
During Riley’s exit interview, he said a lot of important things. He wants Bam to be more aggressive. Strus has to become more than just a shooter. Kyle Lowry has to be more than a joke of a human being (which was discussed in the last Cheese video). You know, the usual number two on the menu.
Of course, that Riley had to show off his personality a little bit. Riley deserves all the respect and power he has so he gets to do this at the podium. I would too.
Riley’s best line of the staring into the faces of all of the reporters and saying he could beat all of them in a push-up contest:
“I’m 77 years old and right now I can do more push-ups than you can right now,” Riley said, according to Tim Reynolds of the AP.
Do you buy that Pat Riley would kick all of the reporters’ asses in a push-up contest? Those are his words, not mine. On the down low, I think he probably can. Riley grinded his way to the top from assistant radio host to the Tom Hagen of the NBA. My money is on Riley.
PS: If anyone can get me in contact with Pat that would be great. I would love to film a push-up video with him and pick his brain afterward. That would be great. Please and thank you.
