The young bucks are hitting the transfer portal this season. First, there was Luke Kromenhoek from Florida State hitting the portal, now On3.com is reporting that Ohio State quarterback Air Noland will be entering the portal. Noland, a former four-star prospect and the No. 60 overall prospect last recruiting class will be looking for a new home in 2025, likely seeking a better chance to become a starter. When he first signed, many viewed Noland as the future starter for the Buckeyes. Instead, he decides to move on.
Air Noland only saw seven pass attempts for Ohio State, all coming in the spring game before this season began. Noland went 5/7, 47 yards and an interception. Noland coming out was considering Alabama, Miami, and Texas A&M before committing to the Buckeyes. In his senior year, he threw for 2,140 yards, 22/9 TD/INT ratio on 66.5 percent completion percentage. However, his hype grew after his Junior year, when he lit it up for 4,095 yards and 55 touchdown passes, on his way to a state championship in the state of Georgia.
Air Noland has a ton of talent. The lefty possesses a lightning-quick release with a high IQ for reading defenses. Noland has a strong arm who can get it out to the boundaries with ease. A natural thrower who has good feel for the pocket but can also get out of trouble, Noland should be able to translate to many different types of offenses. He will need to work on his decision-making in terms of limiting turnovers, but if he can land in a situation where he can start right away and gain that experience, he will be better for it.
