Oddsmakers Underestimated The Gas Tank On Merab Dvalishvili

I’m not going to lie. I planned to blog this tomorrow but then I just watched Merab Dvalishvili haul ass so much that he inspired me to not be lazy. That’s the thing about UFC. These guys just have so much heart and unless you wrestled growing up, you have no clue how hard this sport is. Especially when it comes performing at that type of level while being in that type of shape.

I’m not the lead UFC guy here. Although, I did wrestle for a long time, but I leave that to James Herrick who does a great job here (more on that later). I don’t really ever dabble in the UFC content but I may just do so in the future when Vendetta Fantasy Contest gets the UFC update. Anywho, I apologize in advance for going on story time mode before I get to the point here.

So I’m watching UFC 311.

Before the fight, I put in the company Slack that I’m totally stunned Dvalishvili was listed as an underdog. I get Umar has the last name going for him but do we get that you’re going to have to find a demon who can totally wreck him in the striking game because the cardio Dvalishvili has it absolutely banana-land crazy? Here it is for you.

Guess what? It turns out all the knuckleheads at the 8-Sided Freaks crew all pick Umar.

This isn’t about roasting the UFC team.

Sorry, but also not sorry for that tangent.

I just want to say thank you for what I just watched because I think Joe Rogan said it best. That was highest level bantamweight fight I’ve ever seen. Two world class wrestlers with one dude who simply can’t be human with the gas tank he has.

Look, I don’t care who you are. I’ve been in ridiculous shape before. A seven-minute wrestling match is extremely exhausting. This guy just went 5 rounds, five minutes each, and is laughing. Guy hasn’t broken a sweat. He’s not human. It’s like I watched the UFC version of if Mario from the Nintendo series ate six mushrooms. He’s cheat code cheese mode.

I just can’t believe he was +210 before the fight listed as an undergo while being the champion. How did we let this happen and why didn’t I bet it? When UFC is on the VFC platform, I will make sure to let everyone know. Consider it the ultimate gateway drug when that happens. Best believe that.

Congrats to Dvalishvili. Incredibly inspiring performance and the speech at the end was fantastic to go along with it. If there is anything to take away from this fight tonight, it’s that you should work harder because the training regiment he’s on to perform like this must be absolute hell. Cheers to an awesome night.
