As a Patriots fan, I am honestly shocked that N’Keal Harry has made it this long on the New England Patriots. The former first-round pick out of Arizona State has been a disappointment up to this point, and Mike Garafolo reported today that Harry’s agent Jamal Tooson has formally requested a trade.
“For the past several months, I have been working in cooperation with the Patriots behind the scenes to put a plan in place to allow N’Keal to thrive in New England.“Through two seasons, he has 86 targets, which obviously hasn’t met the expectations the Patriots and N’Keal had when they drafted a dominant downfield threat who was virtually unstoppable at the point of attack in college. Following numerous conversations with the Patriots, I believe it’s time for a fresh start and best for both parties if N’Keal moves on before the start of training camp. That’s why I have informed the Patriots today I am formally requesting a trade on behalf of my client.

In two seasons with the Patriots, Harry had 45 receptions, 414 yards, and only four touchdowns. For a first-round wide receiver, he has been underwhelming, to say the least. In fact, the contest between Harry and undrafted receiver Jacobi Meyers ended up being no contest at all. This pick hurt even more when it came out that the Patriots scouting staff preferred AJ Brown and Deebo Samuel instead of Harry, but as we all know, Belichick reigns supreme in New England, and they drafted Harry with the 32nd overall pick in 2019.
I am not sure what kind of value Harry has on the market, but the time has come for Harry and the Patriots to go their separate ways. I wish the kid nothing but the best.
