Nick Saban retired from coaching having already established himself as the greatest coach ever in the history of the sport. Maybe Saban is really going to retire for good. If Saban is going to work again in any capacity, it should be for the greater good of the sport. College football needs a commissioner in the worst way possible and there is no better candidate than Saban.
So many things need to be fixed. The calendar is totally broken. A coach who lived through that would be the perfect person to fix it. If one of these people don’t step up the already broken sport is going to be plunged into the depths of hell.
NIL, transfer portal, recruiting, schedule making, etc. Is someone willing to put big boy pants on and get this stuff corrected? How is this sport so popular and lucrative without anybody in charge? Doesn’t anybody find that insane?
Saban already has built-in respect and nobody has won more at this level. When he speaks people listen. That’s exactly the type of guy that needs to be in charge.
Forget TV. What’s Saban going to accomplish on College GameDay? Not anything that actually alters the sport for the better. A sport that’s dying for someone exactly like that to step in and save it. That man should be Nick Saban.
If not Saban, who is going to do it? If we don’t get a real commissioner soon, Greg Sankey who runs the SEC will be more powerful than the sport itself. The clock is ticking. We need leadership and Saban is perfect for this role.
