Nick Emmanwori 2025 NFL Draft Profile

The pre-draft process certainly made many people fans of Nick Emmanwori, but is the hype actually warranted? If you’re looking for all the info on the South Carolina safety, you came to the right place. Without further ado, here is your 2025 NFL Draft profile on Emmanwori!

Emmanwori, 21, was a three star recruit coming out of high school. The Irmo, South Carolina, native was the 59th ranked safety and 7th overall player in the state as well. He spent all three years with the Gamecocks.

The South Carolina product checks in at 6-foot-3, 220, and totally blew up the Combine. His leaping numbers were the best by any player regardless of position. Add in 4.38 speed and 20 reps on the bench too. He looks like an undersized linebacker while having the tools of a track runner. It’s remarkable the kind of athlete we’re talking about here. The only problem is he didn’t do any of the on-field stuff, so it’s tough to gauge what we’re truly looking at here in terms of positional movement skills.

Emmanwori wasn’t included in the stock report notes for one reason: He might look like a freak, but he rarely plays like one. The game against Kentucky was the most memorable in a positive way from watching this past year. This interception, while incredibly telegraphed, was very impressive. With Emmanwori, there are a lot of flashes, but not a lot of consistent, overwhelming moments of dominance. That’s the difference.

Again, there is stuff to work with here. Emmanwori was listed as a Freshman All-American and SEC All-Freshman Team right away. The guy was an instant contributor with 2024 being his best season being listed as First-team Associated Press All-American and First-team All-SEC while also notching four interceptions. Really good in the box with closing speed to make plays on the ball. There are just a lot of times it feels like he’s late to react with poor instincts.

I think Emmanwori is a second-third round player. It feels like the safety version of DK Metcalf. A total freak, but the college version of him left you wanting more, which is why he went in the second round. Even now, DK is a very good player, but is he an elite top of the food chain type of guy? If Emmanwori has that light bulb moment, he can be a total tilt-the-field kind of guy. There’s just no evidence that’s a surefire thing and his safest projection is probably as a red chip player who can develop into a decent level starter with plus athletic traits.
