NFL Draft Prospects Should Boycott The 2022 NFL Scouting Combine

Who is the dumbass that thought it was a good idea to put 500 NFL Draft prospects into a bubble a month prior to the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine? The NFL apparently. If you want to read the full press release from the NFL, you can do that here.

My question is, why show up? Why bother going? It’s an asinine idea by the NFL and probably will change by the time the combine actually gets here.

I’m going to let people in on a little secret. There is this thing called science. Once a virus is able to transport from animal to human, that virus is here forever. We’re not getting rid of it. We can come up with all the vaccines we want. That virus is just going to continue to evolve and adapt over time.

The primary goal of the virus is to survive as long as possible. If the virus kills too many people, too quickly, it dies and can’t infect more people. It intentionally weakens itself so it doesn’t cause mass extinction. Otherwise, the virus doesn’t survive either.

We can keep going, but you get the point. There are too many people on this planet and mother nature is just trying to do its job. Hey, maybe creating a society full of people scared to go outside that develop Alzheimer’s instead is a better alternative…

You’re not protecting any of these athletes by hiding them in a closet until the combine arrives. Furthermore, if the NFL actually cared about the health and safety of its players, they would alter the combine itself. These players are eating like shit and getting no sleep at the combine. Sheltering people from society while having them live under awful conditions with no sleep. We do realize they’re causing more danger to players by doing that than they are by having people with COVID intentionally sneeze on them. We do get that, right?

The NFLPA already put out a statement encouraging prospects to bail on the combine.

What’s the point in going to the combine at this point? Especially if the NFL wants to act like this. Show up to the local Pro Day and call it a day. All these guys are vaccinated or don’t want to be vaccinated. We have done all we can. There is no point in canceling or implementing bubbles at this point.

I don’t think the NFL has a choice here but to bend the knee and admit they made a terrible decision. There is absolutely no reason to have this charade bubble to try to appease no one except for intentionally trying to make things more difficult. These are the times when it’s impossible to defend Roger Godell. We know he’s corrupt.
