New PS5 Model To Be Launched

Gamers will have a new model to look forward to this holiday season with the new PS5 release. It seems like smaller is better in the world of technology at least. Phones and gaming systems alike are continuously evolving to pack more punch within a smaller frame. The new PS5 model will be a lot slimmer while still having a lot of storage.

The original PlayStation 5 was released back in November of 2020. It was a huge step up in quality as it was the first of the next-generation consoles along with the Xbox Series X/S. The base cost for the PS5 was $499.

Now, the new model, which has reduced in volume by 30 percent and weight by 18 to 24 percent, is on the way. There are two different versions: The digital version and a version with a disc drive and 1TB extra storage add-on. The new PS5 models still come in around the same price with the Ultra HD Blue-ray Disc Drive version at $499 and the digital version at $449.

This is an interesting new way to sell a system, as PlayStation made it more of a mix-and-match console. There is the base new model of course, but now there are certain stands and covers one can buy. PlayStation offers a vertical and a horizontal stand, as well as four different cover panels that can be used with different colors. This is a cool way to give gamers a sense of customization over their console besides buying a themed console. 

The new PS5 models will be available in November of 2023. 

New games coming to PS5

These new models coming out soon make sense for two reasons. Firstly, as I mentioned earlier, the holiday season is right around the corner. This means it is the perfect time for gamers to upgrade, as well as new gamers to get their hands on the newest model. The next reason is there are a handful of new games coming soon to PlayStation. Now, gamers can prepare to enjoy a lot of new content on fresh consoles. 

NBA 2K24: Early Impressions

One of the most important new games coming out soon is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare lll. This game offers an all-new campaign, as well as updated versions of multiplayer maps and zombies. There are new entries to massive franchises such as EA Sports UFC 5 and Tekken 8. Finally, there will be brand new games such as Helldivers 2 and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. All of these games will be released within the next four months. Ultimately, it is a great time to be a PlayStation gamer.
