Oregon fans should be optimistic about Dante Moore heading into this season for a number of different reasons, but this one we’re going to chat about today has fallen under the radar. Never forget what happened just a few months ago. Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele was scared of Dante Moore, and there’s no hiding it.
We don’t have to spend forever on this. The breadcrumbs are too obvious to ignore.
Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele, a four-star recruit coming out of high school, originally was committed to Oregon. This is a true story. He shows up on campus, sees Dante Moore (who has three more years of eligibility if he wants to use them), and immediately leaves, entering the portal.
By the way, Sagapolutele is no joke. He’s slated to start for Cal this year as a freshman. Obviously, part of the reason he left Oregon was that he could start right away. I just don’t think that tells the full story. I think it’s becoming more and more apparent that Sagapolutele wouldn’t have started in 2026 or maybe even 2027 either.
The Moore breakout season is coming. You don’t have to take my word for it either. His former and current teammates are saying the same thing…
“He’ll be a Heisman finalist next year,” Tez Johnson said of Moore at the Rose Bowl media day. “100 percent. It’s something you haven’t seen yet. That boy can throw a ball like no other. I’ve never seen nothing like it.”
“I think he (Dante Moore) will win the Heisman this year,” Dakorien Moore said.
