Nevada suffers a huge loss as their starting QB Brendon Lewis will be entering the transfer portal. Lewis was one of the bright spots on a less-than-stellar Nevada team. He finished with a solid 2,290 passing yards, 16 passing touchdowns, and 7 interceptions. However, the intrigue around Lewis centers around his dual-threat ability. In 2024, he ended with 775 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on the ground. Now, the QB is testing the transfer portal.
Interestingly, Lewis is leaving all options on the table as he is open to returning to Nevada. He was a great fit at Nevada especially, with the new culture and offense head coach Jeff Choate put into place this year. However, the transfer portal is integral to modern college football now with programs losing mass amounts of players every season. Lewis will have the opportunity to find a new school and find a nice NIL deal in the process.
Brendon Lewis was not one of the top transfer quarterbacks in the portal. However, he still has the talent and experience to help a program win games. He will have one year of eligibility left as he spent his first three seasons at Colorado and his last two at Nevada. It is likely that he will transfer to a non-power four school but who knows after the great year he had last season. It will be interesting to see where QB Brendon Lewis goes or if he ends up returning to Nevada.
