Naz Reid signs five-year, $125 million extension with Timberwolves

Minnesota Timberwolves big man Naz Reid isn’t going anywhere!

While he was expected to opt out of his $15 million player option, Reid signed a five-year, $125 million extension to stay with the team long-term, ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania reported Friday evening.

His new deal will include a player option in 2029-30, Charania notes, which will be Reid’s age-30 season; it will be worth approximately $28.4 million. According to Spotrac, his new deal will begin at $21.6 million in 2025-26.

He won’t exceed 14 percent of the cap in any year of his new deal, so this is pretty good value for Minnesota as long as he continues to have a featured role.
