Nassir Little Tries-Out For Warriors, Heat, and Celtics

According to a tweet by Spotrac contributor Keith Smith, numerous teams have had or plan on having a workout for free agent Nassir Little. Some of the teams are the Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, and the defending champion Boston Celtics. He also has a workout with the Sacramento Kings lined up.

Where Will He End Up?

People within the NBA circle believe that either the Warriors or the Kings are Nassir Little’s most likely landing spots. This is because of the two team’s current roster counts. The Kings only have 14 players on their roster currently, 12 of which are fully guaranteed contracts. In the case of Golden State, they have 15 players signed to their current roster, 12 of which are fully guaranteed. For this reason, both the Kings and Warriors seem like the most likely landing spot for Nassir Little. Both the Heat and Celtics each have 14 players on fully guaranteed deals, which makes it seem less likely that Little will make either one of their rosters as opposed to Sacramento or Golden State.

Little was waived by the Phoenix Suns last month and has not been picked up by anyone since. He played in 45 games last season for the Suns, starting in two of them. In those games, he put up 3.4 points and 1.7 rebounds in 10.2 minutes per night.

He Was a Part of a Blockbuster Deal

Before being sent to Phoenix last September, Little played his first four seasons in the NBA as a member of the Portland Trailblazers. He was drafted by the team with the 25th overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft. You may recall that he ended up in Phoenix because of a blockbuster three-way trade. In it, Nassir Little, Jusuf Nurkic, Keon Johnson, and Grayson Allen were shipped to Phoenix. Portland ended up with Toumani Camara, Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, and a 2029 first-round pick. And Milwaukee got Damian Lillard.

It will be interesting to see where Little ends up and if he can stick with a team for an extended period this time around.
