The man, the myth, the legend, Jake Garcia. If you followed along with our East Carolina video game series on the website, you already know Garcia stunk it up during season number one. It turned out that transpired in real life too, where he lost his job midseason to Katin Houser.
Houser, by the way, did appear on our way-too-early QB rankings list for the upcoming season, if you want to check that out.
Now Garcia is moving on to another program… again. This will now be his fourth different collegiate team after signing with Michigan out of the portal.
Matt Zenitz of 247 Sports was the first to report the news:
Garcia, 6-foot-3, 203, and an incoming senior, probably won’t see the field for Michigan. At least in the best-case scenario. All signs point to hot shot freshman Bryce Underwood winning the job there. With Garcia joining the program this late, it’s unlikely they’ll hand him the keys if he couldn’t even beat out Houser.
Garcia should have went somewhere else if his goal was to actually start. This tells me one thing. Mikey Keene did not play in the Spring Game because of injury. Davis Warren stinks whether he’s healthy or not. Garcia is coming to Michigan to be the backup, and it’s clear the program is worried about Keene and Warren more than they actually want to admit.
If you have any other questions for me, feel free to comment, but that’s really the gist of what we’re looking at here.
