The Bills Secondary takes a hit: an apparent neck injury places Pro Bowl level safety, Micah Hyde, on the IR. He most likely is prepared to miss the rest of the season. His agent Jack Bechta was the first to report on this saying
“Fortunately, we expect a healthy return for #23 in 2023,”

This serves as a crushing blow for a Buffalo Bills team. They have looked virtually unstoppable through the first 2 weeks. Also, the Buffalo Bills were already getting pretty thin in the secondary. Premier Cornerback Tre’Davious White missed time up to this point, and unfortunately, Hyde’s usual partner in crime at the strong safety position, Jordan Poyer, missed time also with a foot injury.
Buffalo’s saving grace is they’re one of the few teams with depth and skill at other positions to help make up for these losses. The addition of Von Miller helped take this pass rush to a new level, and the Josh Allen-led offense looks like the best in the league. It can’t be stopped at some times.
However, in an AFC that hosts some of the best receivers in the league, dealing with this many injuries in your secondary all at once can quickly become a weakness, and teams will try to exploit this weakness. And their first test of that can’t come any sooner. The Bills travel to Miami to prepare to stop the hottest/fastest receiving duo in the league in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
It’ll be interesting to see how Buffalo deals with all these injuries and the Hyde one in particular. But in the NFL you have to be able to deal with injuries. You have to adopt the mindset of the next man up if you want any chance of holding up that Lombardi trophy come February.
