Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman bashes the New York Jets offense during his quick stint with the team.
Hardman, who returned to the Chiefs via trade with the Jets, was only with the team for five games, but shares how the offense has “no standard there.”
Via the “The Pivot” podcast:
“I just feel like it’s not an established coaching staff there,” Hardman said. “You just got a new coaching staff that came in, and there’s no standard there. Everybody do what they want to do. Granted, the defense has more of a stabilized standard with the coaching staff on that side. … But the offense is just like, ‘We’ll just figure it out. It’s Aaron’s show. Let Aaron do what Aaron does.’ Then, when Aaron goes down, it’s like we don’t know what to do.“
Aaron Rodgers signing with the Jets was one of the hottest storylines in the NFL and many thought the Jets were going to have a good season with Rodgers as the team’s QB. But things seemed to crumble after his Achilles tear.
The Jets had to rely on former second overall pick Zach Wilson — who just recently had permission to seek for a trade — to try and keep the short-lived hyped season afloat.
The Jets had Wilson, Tim Boyle, and Trevor Siemian at QB throughout the season and that group eventually helped the team finish the season with a 7-10 record.
It is unsure if Aaron Rodgers would have helped the Jets to a better record.
Mecole Hardman just won his third Super Bowl with the Chiefs, where he caught the game-winning touchdown in overtime, and will return to the free agency.
