Martavis Bryant Requests Trade From Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off a shocking win over the Chiefs but all is not well in the steel city. Wide receiver Martavis Bryant is not a happy camper and has requested a trade from the organization. Bryant hasn’t been integrated into the offense nearly as much as he would like which likely prompted his request to be dealt elsewhere. Now the question becomes whether the Steelers honor his request or if they will try to get him back on board.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network was the first to report the news:

Bryant, as Rapoport mentioned above, didn’t play at all during the 2016 season after being suspended for performance-enhancing drugs. Despite being uber talented, Bryant has not been a huge part of the offense as his role has been ceded to 2nd round pick JuJu Smith-Schuster. Eli Rogers, Antonio Brown, Darrius Heyward-Bey, and Justin Hunter are the other receivers on the roster.

At this point, it remains to be seen who would be willing to trade for Bryant. Nevertheless, with Bryant on the final year of his rookie contract, he could on his way out of Pittsburgh sooner rather than later. Bryant has caught 15 passes for 204 yards and a touchdown this season.
