Marcus Peters is already likely done in Las Vegas. The Raiders are expected to release the veteran cornerback after 12 games this season, according to Vic Tafur of The Athletic.
Interim coach Antonio Pierce benched the former Defensive Rookie of the Year against the Kansas City Chiefs, and the exchange between the two did not exactly look ideal:
Marcus Peters was standing alone at the 50 during the drive. Stayed there while the rest of the defense met on the bench after giving up that score.

It’s unfortunate that things have to end this way for the Oakland, Calif., native. However, nothing seems to be going to plan over at Allegiant Stadium. They ran out to a 14-0 lead on Patrick Mahomes and company before giving up 31 of the next 34 points. The loss puts them at 5-7 and they now face an uphill battle to reach the playoffs.
After joining on a one-year, $3 million deal, the former All-Pro will have options on where to finish the season. He’s played for a contender for almost every year he’s been in the league, whether that’s in Kansas City, Los Angeles or Baltimore.
The free agent market late in the season has some pretty intriguing names; along with Peters, there is also Shaquille Leonard (formerly Darius). The Colts waived the once All-Pro linebacker after he disputed his game time.
While some financial constraints would have to be addressed, these guys are still productive. They would help out a contender one way or another. Does Howie Roseman or another GM have a trick up their sleeve?
The Marcus Peters tenure in Las Vegas is coming to a close after only 12 games. The Raiders have a buy for Week 13, and that looks to be that.
