Malik Nabers Warned The Giants He Would Cause Problems And Now That’s Coming To Fruition

I said it on draft day and I’ll say it again. Malik Nabers while being an extremely talented prospect, was always the wrong pick for the Giants. Anybody who understands team building knows the last position you fix on your team is the wide receiver position. Inserting a really talented wide receiver on your team when you have no ability to actually get him the ball is a recipe for disaster. The disasterclass team that Joe Schoen has built is blowing up in his face fast.

Let’s go through a quick timeline here because the craziest part about this story is the fact that Nabers warned the Giants he would be a problem. They liked him more afterward. Now they have said problem on their hands and have no idea how to handle it.

Oh, and before I start here, I dare you to watch this video we recorded on the Giants offseason Hard Knocks series. Everything that I said would happen has come to fruition.

The Giants interviewed Nabers at the Combine. This is what he told them (thankfully, we have this footage because of the Hard Knocks series).

The guy literally flat out admitted that he would be a problem if he didn’t get the ball.

Guess what happened.

You’re not going to believe it.

Are you sitting down?

Are you sure?

Okay, here you go. Enjoy it and think about how stupid Joe Schoen is for laughing in the owners face after letting Saquon Barkley go to the Eagles at the same time.

Just wait… it gets better, somehow.

Two days later, Nabers said that he would have changed his words but regrets nothing.

This doesn’t happen on a team that has a culture. Brian Daboll appears to be a cleaver playcaller but he’s proven over and over again he’s not an elite head coach. This doesn’t happen on a team coached by Bill Belichick. Nabers absolutely threw Daboll under the bus here but the reality is Schoen deserves a ton of blame here too, obviously.

Odell Beckham 2.0. Good luck with all of this.

Before I go, can we just have a quick side chat about something? Who knows what John Mara is going to do about all of this after the season but there is no chance in hell he trusts Schoen to draft his next quarterback, right? How can you after this clown show season?
