Madden Iamaleava Joins Brother Nico At UCLA, But Leaves Arkansas With Lingering Controversy

UCLA now has both Iamaleava brothers, as the younger Madden will join big bro Nico with the Bruins. However, the drama around this situation isn’t going away anytime soon. Look, it’s really hard to know who’s really at fault here because a lot of these problems stem from poor leadership at the top of the sport. However, it sure appears like Madden pulled a big time scumbag move with his former stop at Arkansas.

ESPN’s Chris Low was the first to report that younger Madden is also hitching his wagon to UCLA, but that’s not the real story. Pete Nakos of On 3 reported Arkansas wants their money back, considering Iamaleava never played a snap for them. Arkansas Edge Collective is asking for approximately $200,000 back for violating its agreement. By the way, he was ineligible to play in 2024 following a high-school transfer. Soooo, yeah, he essentially stole their money and gave the program nothing in return.

“I have spoken with the leadership team at Arkansas Edge and expressed my support in their pursuit to enforce their rights under any agreement violated by our student-athletes moving forward,” he said. “We appreciate Edge’s investment in our student-athletes and acknowledge the enforcement of these agreements is vital in our new world of college athletics. We look forward to continued dialogue with all parties in resolving these matters.”

Tennessee Moves On From Nico Iamaleava After NIL Dispute
