The fighting Chicksters, also known as the Las Vegas Raiders, have signed former Cincinnati Bengal offensive lineman Alex Cappa to a two-year deal, reports Ian Rapoport. In one of the first free agent moves of the off-season, the Raiders look to add offensive line depth by signing Cappa to the roster.
The Cappa deal is two years for $11 million. Honestly, this is not a great signing for the Raiders. I just don’t get it. Giving $5.5 million a year to a 30-year-old offensive lineman coming off a ROUGH year screams Raiders, even under new management. There’s a reason Cappa was cut by Cincinnati, and that’s because his play was a hard watch in 2024, giving up eight sacks and never looking good in general in pass protection.

Just feels like there were better moves to be made at this position in free agency.
I could be dead wrong about Alex Cappa. Maybe he will turn it around in 2025 and prove people like me wrong who are doubting him and this move. However, in typical Raiders fashion, they go out and sign players who are either past their prime, or guys who don’t deserve the annual money they will get. Let’s just hope this is the last over-the-hill free agent they sign this off-season…
