You just can’t put a price tag on self-awareness, and LaNorris Sellers just proved he has it. Not sure we can say the same about new Florida State quarterback Thomas Castellanos. Although when you willingly go play for Gus Malzahn, that should tell you everything you need to know…
Castellanos blasted Kalen DeBoer and Alabama. When asked about it, Sellers sang a much different tune.
“Shoot, Alabama’s still Alabama to me,” Sellers said. “They were good last year. They’re a good team. They’re big, strong and fast. That’s how I remember watching them growing up. And I don’t really think they’ve changed that much. Obviously, they have a new coaching staff and all that. But that’s still SEC ball. They’re still Alabama.”
That, my friends, is what we call self-awareness. It’s what Anthony Richardson doesn’t have. For the sake of time, I don’t need to give a full breakdown on why that’s the case, right? I think you’re smart enough to understand this one on your own.
It was an up-and-down game for Sellers last year when they played Alabama. South Carolina lost 27-25 in a game that went right down to the wire. Heading into his redshirt sophomore season, Sellers will look to finish the job this year when they play on October 25th.
Sellers can remain in school for three more years if he wants to, but he currently tops my way-too-early QB list for next year for the 2026 NFL Draft. Click the link in the last sentence for the full rankings.
