LaJohntay Wester 2025 NFL Draft Profile

We already covered Will Sheppard. Ditto for Jimmy Horn. Somehow, Colorado has another wide receiver in this draft class. Let’s get right to it. Here is your LaJohntay Wester 2025 NFL Draft profile.

NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 8Week 12, East-West (1)

Wester, 23, was a zero star recruit out of the state of Florida. He spent four years at Florida Atlantic before finishing up his final season at Colorado with Deion Sanders. If you read the stock notes at the top, it includes the insane Hail Marry against Baylor that low-key saved the season.

The timeline here looks kinda like this; played sparingly as a freshman, then posted two season of over 700 yards each in 2021 and 2021. His final season at FAU was pretty electric, notching 108 receptions for 1,168 yards, and eight touchdowns. Wester started out as the WR3 but ended the season as the dude in 2024 for Colorado recording 74 receptions for 931 yards and 10 touchdowns.

I liked Wester during the year, but the Combine was totally brutal. Mostly because the guy couldn’t catch to save his life. The pure hands seem to be a serious issue here. The profile here is pretty straight forward. He checks in at 5-foot-10, 163, and is a pure vertical speed option. Really tiny but at least he can run. A 4.46 time at the 40 will do but the leaping numbers weren’t anything special.

Most of these small guys just don’t pan out. You don’t need me to tell you that. He’s a slot receiver who can go deep. That’s really all you’re looking at here. I wonder what the production would have been without Shedeur Sanders throwing him the ball. Certainly can play but what’s the ceiling here? By the way, he didn’t always do Shedeur favors last year. Drops are a concern but you can ask this guy to return punts to fill that void. Small hands and wingspan don’t help his cause.

I have an undrafted grade on Wester, but he’s a priority free agent and camp invite guy for me. Has something to him. Just limited overall ceiling.
