Kyren Lacy Passes Away At 24

The 2025 NFL Draft is just around the corner, and we here at Vendetta Sports Media are grinding away on the coverage. I just posted the profile on Kyren Lacy late last month, and now he’s no longer physically with us. The former LSU wide receiver has tragically passed away in what is allegedly being called a suicide, but that part hasn’t been totally confirmed yet.

Lacy, 24, had previously tanked his draft stock after a negligent homicide and hit-and-run charges in regard to a car accident on December 17th that tragically took the life of a former Marine and injured two others. Garrett has a post on that if you want to read more about that. I hate to speculate, but this may have had something to do with it.

The 6-foot-2, 213, wide receiver was previously thought to be a 3-4th round pick. After the incident, he was probably looking at an undrafted preseason camp invite. Lacy was LSU’s number one receiver this past year after collecting 58 receptions for 866 yards and nine scores.

This just sucks. There is only so much you can say about a situation like this. In fact, I just went on a semi-rant about this in a post I did just yesterday. Mental health is a serious topic, and it should not be taken lightly. We here at VSM are sending our thoughts and prayers to the Lacy family.
