Tingus Pingus is a warrior. Kristaps Porzingis is willing to die for the Celtics; his words, not mine.
Well, now we have the official update on Porzingis. The Latvian big man is listed as day-to-day with another injury that is somehow severe at the same time.
Have no fear, Porzingis is sticking to his guns. He doubled down and is doing everything he can to play. He hopes not to die but will do so to win a championship.
Porzingis, 28, has always been the Celtics X-Factor. He just totally completes this Celtics team. They’re not the same without him. While being up 2-0 on the Mavericks, maybe they can close out Dallas without Porzingis. Let’s just hope we don’t have to find out and the big man gives it everything he has to finish the job.
I want to close things out with this. I was at Game 2. When Porzingis came out of the tunnel, I swear it was like a scene out of the WWE. The fans LOVE Porzingis. That’s undeniable. His impact when on the floor is also undeniable. Regardless of what happens the rest of the way, the fans have his back. Have no doubt about that.
If and when the C’s close the deal, Porzingis will go down as a legend. As things stand, he’s shooting 60% in the NBA Finals while averaging 16 points, five rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game. They’re just a different team when the big guy is going.
