Konata Mumpfield 2025 NFL Draft Profile

Konata Mumpfield is another wide receiver in a class that feels full of wildcards. Can the Pitt product emerge as a real NFL player? That’s obviously what we’re here to talk about, hence the title, so I’m just going to get into it now if you don’t mind. Here is your 2025 NFL Draft profile on Mumpfield.

NFL Draft Stock Report: GameAbove Sports Bowl, East-West (1), (2), (3), (4)

Mumpfield, 22, was a two-star athlete out of the state of Georgia. The former Pitt Panthers wide out checks in at 5-foot-11, 186, and was a team captain this past year for their program. He did not play in the Bowl game that’s linked at the top but we saw plenty at the East-West Game to know what we’re getting here.

The East-West performance was incredibly underwhelming. Ditto for the Combine performance. Not even trying to be rude but I have no idea what’s even here. He spent one year at Akron putting up decent numbers. Then spent the final three years at Pitt being a pedestrian target. 2024 was his best year finishing off with 52 receptions for 813 yards and five scores.

He’s not big, has small hands / wingspan, and is on the slower side. Can’t be that size and run a 4.59. Also, just looked straight up bad in every predraft event I watched. It would be one thing if he were a savvy route runner, but that’s clearly not the case either. Five drops in 2024, and often times he doesn’t want any part of going over the middle of the field.

I don’t want to sound repetitive here, but the guy is just there. There’s nothing special about him. JAG. Nothing more.

I have an undrafted grade on Mumpfield and wouldn’t be excited about him as an undrafted player either. He’s probably one of my least favorite wide receiver prospects in this entire class. I could have typed more but at some point it’s unnecessary to beat a dead horse. He doesn’t fit the criteria for what an NFL wide receiver should be, and if Bub Means is close to a zero at the NFL level, he’s got no shot.
