UFC fans have been clamoring for a rematch between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor. A rematch might not seem that likely. It has a lot more to do than the fact that Khabib already embarrassed him. Lines were crossed during the lead up to the fight and Khabib remains uninterested in fighting ‘scumbag’ Conor McGregor.

Khabib’s manager Ali Abdelaziz had the following statements:

“The only chance this fight could happen is in the street,” Abdelaziz said Saturday at UFC 247 at Toyota Center. “[McGregor would] have to do something spectacular. He’s s—, you understand?

“Conor McGregor is one of the biggest stars because he’s one of the biggest scumbags.”

“Let’s be real,” Abdelaziz said. “We don’t like this guy. We’re never gonna like him. Probably every time we see him, there’s gonna be problems. He said things about family, things about religion, things about race. He crossed the line. … You can’t cross the line with [Nurmagomedov].”

I mean… he’s not wrong. McGregor mocked Khabib’s wife, his religion, his culture, race, family, etc. Things that obviously crossed the line. McGregor also punched an old guy in the face and has been under investigation for sexual assault more than once. It’s tough to like the guy.

IS CURTIS BLAYDES THE NEXT UFC CHAMPION?

Time will tell if we ever get to see another fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor. For the time being, we will have to enjoy Khabib’s upcoming fight against Tony Ferguson at UFC 249 in April. If Khabib wins, we will see what the UFC plans to do. For Nurmagomedov, money doesn’t seem to be a motivating factor.

“Listen, there’s a lot of money for Khabib if Khabib fights Conor,” Abdelaziz said. “… But everything is not about money. Especially with Khabib.”
