Kevin Love Re-Signs With The Miami Heat On 2-Year Deal

Kevin Love has re-signed with the Miami Heat on a 2-year, $8 million deal. This was first reported by Shams Charania on X/Twitter:

Kevin Love, 35, is entering his 17 season in the NBA. He was with the Miami Heat last year and has seemed to found a home there to maybe finish out his career. He was with the Cleveland Cavaliers and was traded to the Miami Heat during the 2022-2023 NBA season. Satisfied with his role with the Miami Heat, he has re-signed there for 2 years. Although he’s obviously not the athlete and basketball player he used to be now at 35, he still has some value and can still produce effectively off the bench. Last season he averaged 8.8 PPG on 44% shooting including 34.4% shooting from 3. He also contributed 6.1 RPG and 2.2 APG in 16 minutes off the bench.

In 16 minutes, this is quite productive off the bench and helps the Heat’s frontcourt when they need to rest. Kevin Love was once a star in the league and is an NBA Champion with the famous 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers that was led by LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. Love knows what it takes to win a championship and while he might not be the player he once was, he has been there before. He can be helpful in that aspect for a team that has been looking to return to the NBA Finals since their loss to the Denver Nuggets in 2023 and winning another championship since 2013. Kevin Love may play more of a mentor role instead of an on-court role for the Miami Heat, but he can still produce enough for the Heat.
