There isn’t much expectation for Green Bay Packers’ success this season. In fact, sportsbooks in Las Vegas project the Packers around seven-to-eight wins with Aaron Rodgers’ departure. However, this sentiment isn’t bringing down two-time Pro Bowler DT Kenny Clark’s spirits.
Clark entered the league in 2016, a year where Rodgers threw for 4,428 yards and 40 TDs and brought the team to the NFC Championship. Since then, the Packers have had two more conference championship appearances and one divisional-round appearance.
Safe to say, Clark is used to people saying that the Packers will make a deep playoff run every year. During an appearance on The Zach Gelb Show, Clark responded to if he feels the absence of such predictions this year is a sign of disrespect for the team.
“One hundred percent, but that’s cool,” Clark said. “I like it that way. This has been one of the first offseasons where we ain’t really been getting the credit, getting the love. Everybody says Aaron determines whether we win or lose, so we love it. We’re going to embrace it. When it comes to Week One, when the season gets here, we’ll see how everything stacks up. We’re excited about it.”
Jordan Love will be at the helm for the 2023 season, and he’s yet to prove himself as a quarterback in the NFL. Love was selected in the first round of the 2020 Draft to essentially replace Rodgers, and now he’s got his shot.
Clark complimented the first-year starter’s confidence during the interview. He said “everybody feeds off” of that and there will be plenty of eyes on how things play out. Cornerback Jaire Alexander rang the same bell, calling Love the “best QB in the league” in a recent locker room interview.

There will be plenty of eyes on the NFC North this year excited to see if the underdog Packers will continue their dominance, or if a new team will step up to the plate.
