Juuso Parssinen: Next On The Chopping Block By The Predators

The Nashville Predators stink and it appears that they found the next target to put in the dog house. Young players such as Dante Fabbro, Philip Tomasino, and Yaroslav Askarov have all been moved this season. Add Juuso Parssinen to that list as it appears the Preds are looking to move him too.

A report has surfaced that Parssinen will likely be moved at some point too.

“20. The Predators moved on from Dante Fabbro and Philip Tomasino, who started well in their new homes. Looks like we’re headed to that point with Juuso Parssinen, too.”

The biggest problem with the center is that they lack centers. Parssinen has a chance to become that but clearly they decided it’s not going to happen for him. In fairness, Parssinen was just a 7th round pick compared to the other guys they’ve given up on who were taken in the first round.

Parssinen, 23, has 5 points in 15 games with a -8 rating across roughly 12 minutes of ice time per night. I can’t imagine the Preds are going to get much in return here so I’m not totally sure what the point of all of this is.

Maybe Barry Trotz just doesn’t know what he’s doing. Have we considered that possibility? What exactly has he gotten right since taking over the job in Nashville? He talks about bringing a culture to this team. The only culture they have created is giving up on young players too soon to watch them flourish elsewhere.
