It would appear that this injury that Jordan Travis suffered during his final season at Florida State would ultimately become a career-ender. Feel free to click the link in the previous sentence, but know in advance you’re a sicko if you want to re-watch a guy break his leg. I’m simply leaving it there so people have context as to what will subsequently end his career.

After being selected in the 5th round just one year ago, the former Florida State product has decided to hang up the cleats for good. It’s pretty clear at this point he just never recovered properly from the leg injury.

Don’t worry, it wouldn’t be a story about the Jets if there wasn’t drama involved. ESPN’s Rich Cimini revealed on a recent episode of his Flight Deck podcast that the Jets are being accused of botching his rehab process, which may have led to this retirement decision.

“The Jets certainly were not happy when Travis’ agent told me that he thought the Jets botched the rehab last year, and I know the agent got an earful from the Jets. I think both sides agreed to shut down all talks regarding Travis’ health.”

Also, not to be that guy, but can we just revisit the talking point about Joe Douglas? The guy is an idiot, and it’s not really debatable. This is just another draft pick in the long list of draft picks that were flushed down the toilet during his tenure in charge. Not that it’s the end of the world to flush a 5th round pick down the toilet, but the Jets don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt on this one based on their history.
