John Williams increases GOAT status with another Oscar nomination

The Oscars are the most prestigious award in the film industry. It is an honor to win an Oscar, people take pride in just being nominated for an award. However, some brilliant people in the movie industry have won multiple Oscars.

Now, there are a vast amount of categories such as acting, directing, production and music. John Williams is a composer who has found a lot of success throughout his career as a composer. He will add another achievement to his résumé as he was just nominated for another Oscar, it was announced this week.

He is the oldest nominee ever at 91-years-old. This means he has been working at his craft for many years leading to his unreal amount of nominations. There are many music categories such as original score, original song, best scoring and best dramatic score. Williams was nominated for Best Original Score for his work in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

John Williams’ career started in 1952 and he is still finding success in the movie industry. He is a staple of the history of cinema. Williams has been a part of some of the biggest movie franchises by designing a lot of iconic scores. This newest nomination is now his 54th ever and his chance to obtain his sixth-ever Oscar award. 

Some of John Williams’ Iconic Scores

John Williams is a well-known composer so some people may recognize his work. However, he has a fair amount of work that people might not know about. First, let’s start with the huge franchises he has been a part of in the past. Williams has done iconic music scores for films such as Jaws, Jurassic Park, ET and Schindler’s List. Also, he has worked in gigantic franchises like Star Wars, Harry Potter and Indiana Jones. 

Those movies are some of his most well-known work but he has a lot of other fantastic scores. He did the scores for Encounters of the Third Kind and Saving Private Ryan. Also, he surprisingly did the scores for the first two Home Alone movies.

Finally, he has composed for television as well. The NBC Sunday Night Football theme is another one of his works. John Williams is a legend and his influence and reach can be traced throughout the music industry. He is a phenomenal composer and he is one of the greatest composers of all time.
