John Cena is one of the biggest stars to come out of WWE in recent years and will return to the promotion very soon.
Today, Cena a recognizable figure even outside of pro wrestling, as he’d had quite a successful transition into acting. However, the 46-year-old has been prioritizing his acting career over the past few years. This has allowed John Cena to appear in films like The Suicide Squad and even lead the Peacemaker television series.
Fox Sports recently confirmed that John Cena would be making a return to the promotion, but his schedule has since been updated, according to Wrestling Inc. Alongside his original September 1st and 8th appearances, the 16-time WWE Champion will make another seven more appearances well into October. Additionally, Cena will also host Make-A-Wish in every city SmackDown tours in.
With what seems to be an absence of Roman Reigns after the last chapter of The Bloodline storyline, Cena could be coming in to keep WWE’s momentum. Additionally, John Cena might want to take a break from filming for some time. His recent film, Vacation Friends 2, has been poorly received by outlets like Rotton Tomatoes. Because of this, Cena might just believe that another WWE run could relax his acting muscles a bit.
Bray Wyatt shockingly passed away last week at the age of 36. The former WWE Champion was best known for his many creative personas as well as his in-ring ability. Wyatt notably repackaged himself after returning to WWE last year, and his last promo promised a more grounded character. Cena notably had an interesting feud with Bray Wyatt back in 2020, and it seems like their time together had an effect on the veteran.
Joining the wrestling world in mourning Wyatt’s death, John Cena looked back at their time together and sent his condolences out to the Rotunda family.
Sadly, fans will never know what Bray Wyatt could have done next, but his passion seems to have inspired many fans and his peers. With a lengthy return scheduled, Cena will likely reference Wyatt’s passing during one of the promos he’ll cut. While his passing is undoubtedly tragic, Bray Wyatt leaves behind a monumental legacy that has even inspired the likes of John Cena.
