Joe Milton was traded to the Cowboys this offseason for a late round pick swap, and he appears very happy about his new home.
Talking to reporters (link to full interview), Milton laid out four reasons why he’s very excited about being traded to Dallas.
1) “Back in the heat, for one,” the Florida native said about moving from the cold of Foxborough.
2) “They allowed me to play in a dome for two,” he said about getting to play at AT&T Stadium.
3) “For three, it’s America’s team,” Milton said.
4) “Also, it’s just great to learn from somebody like Dak,” Milton said about the opportunity to play behind starting quarterback Dak Prescott.
I’ve already talked about this topic at length, and nothing about this deal makes a lick of sense from a Patriots angle. For Dallas, it makes total sense. They upgraded on Cooper Rush and are somehow paying less financially to do it. The positive in all of this is that Milton is in good spirits and views the move to Dallas as a blessing. Outside of being surprised by the move that New England gave up on him, Milton is taking this whole thing with a positive mindset.
“Coming here was a blessing,” Milton said. I didn’t know it was going to be here. My agent said it was multiple teams that called. So I didn’t know where I was going to end up. I was just thankful to go somewhere.”
