Jeremy Lin Expresses “Anger To Heartbreak” About Recent Attacks On Asian Americans

I’m sure you’ve heard some reports about increased attacks on Asian Americans due to ignorance and idiocy. The attacks on the rise against Asian Americans is contributed to the infamous COVID-19 disease starting in Asia. At least, that is when it first was announced. Now, instead of all Americans doing what they are told to get the disease under control, like the rest of the world, they rather lash out at Asian Americans, like Jeremy Lin, for literally no reason.

There’s no way to actually confirm that the disease starting in Asia, that is just where the first reported case was. Regardless, attacking Asian Americans for it for no other reason than that is wrong. Attacking any human being is wrong. Attacking any Asian person, American or not, for COVID-19 is literally the epitome of stupid. Jeremy Lin, one of the few Asian Americans that has played in the NBA, has expressed anger to heartbreak about the attacks. His full quote on “Race in America: A Candid Conversation,” airing Tuesday night on NBC Sports Bay Area:

“I feel bad for somebody who harbors hate for somebody else, who they’ve never met, just based on skin color,” he says. “That makes me want to do something. It makes me want to educate people or speak out and find ways to make a difference. “Honestly, it goes almost from anger to heartbreak. Almost like a sadness, but mixed with compassion. I almost feel for the people who are hurting the victims.”

Jeremy Lin and the hosts talk about the need to unified and the necessity for understanding other cultures. Lin says playing in the NBA has helped with that.

“It would be hypocritical of me to say I’m anti-racism if I only stand up for people who look like me,” Lin says. “There is definitely power in unification and solidarity. That must happen and needs to happen. If we can continue to do that – and that’s one great way, between the Asian and African American communities – if we can really combine and show for each other and support each other, that would give us more momentum in that direction.”

Americans are dumb and ignorant. Rather than taking responsibility to get this disease under control, we rather blame Asian Americans due to the fact that they are of Asian descent. COVID-19 is also the Americans’ fault for spreading it so much after not following necessary protocols. We’re one of the only countries still dealing with this because of a lack of initiative. Other countries have already solved this problem, while we are coming up on the 1-year anniversary of this. But hey, Americans know best, right?
