With the 2022 MLB Postseason in full swing, columnists and writers are very active on their respected Twitter platforms. ESPN’s Jeff Passan, one of the most trusted voices in baseball, had a lot to say about Astros ace Justin Verlander’s Game One implosion against the Mariners.
To add some context, Verlander’s brother, Ben is very vocal himself regarding baseball especially his constant tweeting about how much he adores superstar Shohei Ohtani. Many think of Ben as riding the coattails of his brother as the main reason why he actually has a platform in the first place.
Passan is well aware of this. He responded to his own tweet with this golden statement completely geared to get under the skin of Ben Verlander. Jeff is known to have a great sense of humor, especially on Twitter, and you really can’t take it seriously. Verlander is an easy target, however.
Luckily, it doesn’t end here. Little boy Ben had to respond, almost insinuating he wants to fight Passan. The Tweets tell the story.
If you are new to Twitter, you don’t want to get ratioed by a wide number of people. This is when the person you’re having a fight with makes a better point and has their likes outnumber yours. This is what happened to Ben when Jeff dropped a trademarked “Passan Bomb.” Get ready. This one is good.
As a result of this epic roast, Ben Verlander might as well have died. You cannot come back from this. This straight-up put Ben Verlander into Zack Hample territory. Annoying and wanting to act like the victim. Passan has so much respect around the baseball community and you cannot fuck with that.
