Under Maintenance
We deeply apologize for interrupting your reading but Vendetta is currently undergoing some important maintenance! You may experience some layout shifts, slow loading times and dififculties in navigating.
Let me start out by saying this. I like Jeff Marek. If he wanted a job with Vendetta Sports, I would hire him in a second. He’s kinda like Bill Nye the science guy, except not as nerdy in a good way, but with a hard focus on hockey. He’s a great voice for the sport, and he’s really good at what he does. He’s someone who got fired for being too good at his job, something I’m very familiar with personally. So when Jeff Marek says the Stars might trade Jason Robertson, I’m all ears, even if I think it’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard of.
He’s actually doing his live show talking about Robertson right now, so I’ll drop that below as well.
VIA The Sheet on Daily Faceoff:
“So, what now?”
“Could the Stars move someone like Jason Robertson, who has one more year on his deal at an incredible $7.75 million value, to try to recoup Draft capital and free up cap space to once again go big-game hunting in the summer? If so, I’d watch the Ottawa Senators and Anaheim Ducks as possible destinations.”
“And if (and it’s a big ‘if’) the Stars move Robertson, do we start to hear Mitch Marner’s name attached to Dallas?”
“The Stars still want to be tougher. I believe if Mathieu Olivier got to market, the Stars would have been all over him.”
“How about Aaron Ekblad? Dallas covets a big right shot defenseman and along with Miro Heiskanen, Thomas Harley and Esa Lindell, Ekblad would instantly vault Dallas into elite blueline territory.”
I’m actually going to do another follow up post after this one to illustrate how stupid this idea would be. It will include a video for YouTube as well. How about a teaser before I get there? Trading this guy while being under team control is probably a horrible idea…
