Jaylon Smith missed the entire 2016 season due to a severe knee injury he suffered during his final collegiate game for Notre Dame. The Cowboys drafted him in the 2nd round anyway knowing that he would miss his rookie campaign. Smith would have been a top 10 selection if he did not injure his knee. Heading into the 2017 season, the Cowboys linebacker posted a video to prove he will be ready for the 2017 season.

13 months after his knee surgery there is some hope that the nerve damage he suffered will be able to re-fire the right way. He still wears a brace on his foot because of the nerve damage. It looks like Smith could be ready to play during the 2017 season. It just remains to be seen how active he will be during offseason activities.
