Don’t worry if you don’t know who Jake Winderman is. You’re not the only one. I had no idea who he was until Monday night when he came to my attention on Twitter. Then I realized, Jake Winderman is a bell-end.
If you are wondering why the below tweet should clarify
Unfortunately for Jake, someone who seems to have a bit of experience in the media world, he failed to do his research before opening his twitter and sending that poorly constructed message. Hence he’s ended up looking like a complete tool with little to no credibility.
Had he done his research, he’d have noticed Leeds won 4-0 three times last season. Hull, Middlesborough, and Charlton were the teams on the wrong end of those trashings. They also beat Stoke City 5-0. These were Leeds’ biggest win margins, yet Luton’s name is nowhere to be seen. The last time Leeds put four or more past a Luton side was back in 1978. That was before you were even born, eh, Jake?
Also, if we are going to go back in history for heavy defeats, let’s go to October 21, 2006, when this happened.
Now THAT was a teeth kicking!
Had Jake Winderman, who, according to his Twitter bio, makes digital content for CBS Sports, researched even further, he’d have noticed that of the two occasions last season that the sides faced, Leeds only managed to win one. At Kenilworth Road, they squeaked out a 2-1 win thanks to an injury-time own goal from Matty Pearson. The return fixture at Elland Road was a 1-1 draw in which the now Premier League team had to come from behind.
But let’s give Jake the benefit of the doubt. He’s probably only started ‘following’ Leeds this season as he wasn’t aware there could be leagues outside the Premier League. After all, that’s how it’s run in America with the MLS. And that’s proving to be so successful.
With that said, it was baffling that Jake singled out Luton Town for the ‘teeth kicking’ comment unless the definition changed, and I wasn’t made aware. Luton let in three goals in two games (180+ minutes) against Marcelo Bielsa’s side last season. Liverpool let in three in 70 minutes. Do you see where I’m going with this, Jake!?! Did you even think about this!?! Probably not since it’s obvious you’re a bell-end.
All Jake Winderman has done is piss off the Luton Town faithful, myself included, which anyone will tell you is not a good idea. But then again, that was probably the idea. I would put money on the fact Jake knows as much about Luton as he does teeth-kicking. He probably looked at the League and thought, “Never heard of them,” so decided it sounded funny.
Expect it doesn’t. It sounds juvenile and shows a complete lack of understanding for a sport Winderman seems eager to cover on his Twitter. It also makes his current employers look a bit stupid for hiring someone who doesn’t understand the beautiful game and couldn’t be bothered even to research. You would think at a company like CBS, that would be a minimum requirement.
Hey CBS, if you want to replace Jake with someone who knows what they are talking about, I can give you some names. Feel free to visit the great football writers here at Vendetta Sports Media, including Serenity Liessmann and Jarrod Prosser. They are both better informed than your guy Jake and can hold their own when it comes down to the nitty-gritty. Sure, Jarrod is an Everton fan but don’t hold that against him.
He’s just making himself and your company through association look stupid. There are hot takes, and then there are just plain stupid takes. His was the latter. Jake Winderman is a bell-end.
