Jacory Croskey-Merritt 2025 NFL Draft Profile

This running back class is loaded so next up on the 2025 NFL Draft profile series, we’re going to be diving into a bunch of them who are being overlooked. Next up on the list is Arizona RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt. Is there a real NFL future here? Let’s get right to the profile!

The craziest thing about the Arizona running back is that our best evidence of what he might be comes from the East-West game. It has nothing to do with the fact of just not watching enough of their games. I did watch a few Arizona games but he wasn’t out there for them.

There are some mystery vibes here. Almost like a rollercoaster ride that can’t make up its mind on being scary or not. I thought he was pretty terrible during the week of practice. Then goes out there for the game and was cleary the best running back on the field. When I say lit it up, I mean it.

The sample size of actual college production to dig through here is incredibly small. 13 total carries at Arizona. Now, that first game of the season was electric but it’s how to react to what was actually a revenge game spot against an inferior New Mexico team.

Speaking of New Mexico, that’s where he put up his biggest numbers. It was four years of unforgettable meh production at Alabama State. Then he actually kinda lights it up with New Mexico. Rushed for 1,190 yards at a 6.3 YPC clip and 17 touchdowns at New Mexico. That’s after four years of being south of 4.0 YPC every single year at Alabama State.

You starting to get these rollercoaster vibes? Never really been a factor in the passing game either but has the skillset to do it. 5-foot-11, 208, with some jittery vibes to his game. Not slow and can make cuts. Also, probably not one of those guys you can solely lean on. Needs to be in a committee. Has some vision and patience to his game. A zero in pass protection and the overall knee bend is far from ideal. Too high as a runner and will be swallowed by certain tacklers. Obviously, no real recruiting profile here for a guy that spent that much time at a nothing school.

At the end of the day, I have an undrafted grade on Jacory Croskey-Merritt. Can’t say I saw enough to use a draft pick here. He might have some interesting scat-back qualities to him but this RB class is loaded and beyond a preseason invite, it’s hard to justify prioritizing him above others in the class. Not going to be a fit for everyone but the sample size is so small that he deserves an invite to preseason camp with the hope he continues to develop and surprise once he’s in your building.
