Israel Adesanya Is A Lot Better Than Your Favorite Fighter

Israel Adesanya put on another absolute clinic at UFC 263. In full control for all 25 minutes, Adesanya looked unbeatable and downright invincible. Unless your favorite fighter is named Jon Jones or Kamaru Usman, Adesanya is better.

Middleweight Domination

There is not a human being alive that can beat Adesanya at middleweight. He is just too skilled – he will outstrike you, his strategy will be better than yours, and he will mentally annihilate you. The only fight I can remember that was remotely close was the Kelvin Gastelum fight, but Adesanya still dominated the fight with four knockdowns. Since Adesanya entered the UFC, his only loss was to a fighter 20 pounds heavier than himself, and no one at Adesanya’s weight can match his strength, speed, and technique.

UFC 263

UFC 263 went as most expected. Vettori could not touch Adesanya on Saturday while Adesanya landed his strikes at will. His grappling and wrestling deserve special recognition, as Adesanya was stuffing takedowns left and right and performed crazy somersaults to get back on his feet after going down himself. In short, Adesanya proved his dominance over the middleweight division yet again.

What Is Next?

If it is not Robert Whittaker, then Dana White can keep it. Israel Adesanya vs. Robert Whittaker 2 in Auckland, New Zealand would be a flat-out electric factory. Whittaker has the perfect combination of power and grit to give him a shot against the champion, but Adesanya dominated Whittaker in their first fight at UFC 243 to take the middleweight crown. I expect Adesanya vs. Whittaker 2 to be announced by the end of summer, with a target date of mid-October/early November. Stay tuned for a preview of that fight when it gets announced.
