If you haven’t read Joon Lee’s piece yet on the dysfunctional Red Sox, make sure to do so. It’s worth your time. The Section 10 fan boys are not worth your time, but that’s another story for another day. However, inside Lee’s post details a hot mic situation, which you can see the full breakdown of that angle here.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. The hot mic story encapsulates one cold, hard truth. The club is being run by children, and there isn’t an ounce of real leadership going on with the Red Sox right now.
Connect the dots, people. Craig Breslow should have been fired on the spot after this radio segment. Nobody wanted to speak up.
Then Devers gets traded and chaos begins…
A guy got fired for telling the truth on a hot mic, and now nobody’s talking about it outside of one Yahoo Sports reporter? That tells you everything about the Red Sox and why Rafael Devers is gone.
You don’t need sources when the dysfunction is this loud. This is why the team keeps spiraling… there’s no backbone, no accountability.
And let’s be real. If Breslow actually had a spine, he would have handled the situation much differently. I’ve been called much worse than a stiff and didn’t resort to firing said person. We’re not just talking about a child who is in charge. We’re talking one who thinks he has all the answers, too, and won’t take any feedback. Don’t forget, Breslow has resorted to insulating himself within the building. No wonder why Jared Carrabis won’t speak out. He doesn’t leave his room either.
I did personally reach out to the scout who was fired. If you’re a Red Sox fan waiting for this front office to fix things, don’t hold your breath. Until people like Carl are allowed to speak, nothing changes.
Well… there’s actually one thing you can do to change things.
