I couldn’t stand Harrison Barnes on the Warriors, I can’t stand him even more now. He has never deserved his contract and that was evident when he was on the Warriors. Someone tell me why Harrison Barnes deserves his 4-year 85 million contract? Please. I’m begging someone. I called the Mavericks dumbasses originally for even offering that type of contract to a player of his caliber. Now, since they traded him to the Kings, I’ve been slandering Sacramento ever since.
Surely someone that gets approximately 21 million a year has seemingly good stats, right? You’d be wrong if you thought that. I thought I was wrong for just a second when Barnes was averaging about 19 PPG in his first contract year with the Mavericks, but since then his performance has declined. He now only averages 15.2 PPG on 44% shooting, 2.2 APG, and 5.1 RPG. Not exactly screaming 21 million dollars a year huh? He is 3rd on his team for scoring, 6th on his team for assists, and 5th on his team for rebounds. You’re telling me you’re spending that much for that kind of production.
Well, luckily his contract expires soon right? WRONG. He isn’t a free agent until the year 2023. The worst part is that they could be using that money to elevate their promising young core. They have De’Aaron Fox and Marvin Bagley who are already pushing for the Kings to make the playoffs. Harrison Barnes is the most expensive contract the Kings have on the books right now. They need to trade him for whatever they can get for him because he does nothing special to contribute to this promising Kings team. I wonder if the Kings trust issues stem from his play. Harrison Barnes is a waste of his money and should be treated as such. If you disagree, you’re just not watching closely enough.
