The Green Bay Packer famous Cheesehead hat is a tradition in sports like no other. Now, the organization can officially call it their own. The Green Bay Packers have acquired Foamation, the producers of the original Cheesehead hat.
The nationally recognized cheesehead was created back in 1987 by a man named Ralph Bruno. The founder of the cheesehead is based in Wisconsin, and first wore it to a Milwaukee Brewers game. After that, Bruno wore it to tailgates and it instantly took off; fans loved it. There, a new tradition was born in the cheese-filled state of Wisconsin.
“After many years of working with family and friends to build the Cheesehead brand, we are pleased to pass it on to the Green Bay Packers,” Ralph Bruno said. “We have had a very special relationship with the Packers over the years, and my wife, Sue, and I are both very excited about what the Packers can do with the Cheesehead going forward.”
After several years of displaying the product in their pro shop and selling them around the world, the Packers can call it their very own.
As one may guess, the popular Wisconsin fanatic get-up will remain produced in the Badger state.
Packers vice president of marketing and fan engagement, Gabrielle Dow made comments on the historic franchise acquiring Foamation.
“The popular Cheesehead hats have come to represent Packers fans all over the world and we’re excited to officially welcome this special brand to the Packers organization,” Dow said. “We’re looking forward to building upon the legacy the Bruno family has created over the years and offering our fans even more Cheesehead items to love.”
