Goldberg Provides Clarity On His Status With WWE

Goldberg is a legend in professional wrestling. Whether you like him or not, he has had an impact on the professional wrestling world. He was one of the most dominant wrestlers in WCW and in the history of wrestling. He signed a new contract with WWE last year, and now he gave an update on his contract status with the company.

Goldberg last competed in February 2022 at the Elimination Chamber premium live event. That match was the last required match on his current contract. He told the New York Post that although he has wrestled his obligated number of matches, he is still under contract with WWE. Goldberg said he isn’t retiring and is still waiting in case he gets a call from WWE.

“I’m still waiting for that one [call] to happen one of these days. But I suppose you never retire in the wrestling world until you’re dead, so who knows.”

Goldberg’s Dealing With An Injury

Goldberg also revealed that he is currently dealing with a shoulder injury. He said it was “absolutely destroyed” and that he wasn’t even able to lift up a five-pound weight. Goldberg had announced that he needed surgery to fix his shoulder, but was going to wait until he was done with professional wrestling. He now believes that he doesn’t need the surgery anymore, as he has been rehabbing it. Goldberg claims he is in “pretty damn good shape right now.”

It is unclear if he will get one more call from WWE or not, but he seems to be as ready as ever to step back into the ring. At age 55, his best years are behind him, but that doesn’t mean he can’t still get the job done. He’s healthy, in good shape, and hungry to get back into the ring one last time.
