Georgia LB Troy Bowles Transfers To Michigan

If you’re an avid reader of my NFL Draft stock report series, you already know Georgia is like 12 deep at linebacker. I don’t even get to talk about freaks like CJ Allen because he’s not even draft eligible yet. They just have too many guys and roadblocks to playing time. Troy Bowles obviously realized he wasn’t going to see the field any time soon and decided to seek it elsewhere.

Troy Bowles, the son of Bucs head coach Todd Bowles, has transferred to Michigan.

This probably won’t affect Georgia one bit. CJ Allen and Raylen Wilson are obvious starters heading into next season. Smael Mondon is likely off to the NFL along with Jalon Walker. Freshmen Chris Cole, Justin Williams, and Kris Jones are also waiting in the wings behind them. They also signed 5-star prospect Zayden Walker during the 2025 cycle. Losing Bowles takes away some of the depth but that’s about all we’re looking at here.

Bowles, a sophomore from Tampa, Florida, posted five tackles this past season. We’re still unsure what he’s going to bring to the table. Just not enough tape on the guy to know exactly what Michigan is getting. At Michigan, Bowles is going to see plenty of action. He likely starts for them at linebacker right away.

This is a big get for the Michigan defense which is losing a bunch of pieces to the NFL. We’ll find out what Bowles is made of in 2025. As a former four star recruit, we’ll see if he can live up to that kind of potential in his new landing spot.
