I’m aware this news is a few days old, but it’s still been undercovered and probably needs to be talked about. Mikah Fitzpatrick is one of the best defensive backs in the NFL. Well, now his younger brother, Justice Fitzpatrick, is about to burst onto the college football scene.
The St. Thomas Aquinas (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida) product is totally shutting down his recruiting process and will be attending the University of Georgia.
Hayes Fawcett of On3 was the first to report the news here:
Fitzpatrick, the nation’s No. 64 overall prospect, No. 7 cornerback, and No. 11 player in the state, will go play for head coach Kirby Smart. Smart, of course, is the same man who used to be the defensive coordinator at Alabama when he coached older bro Minkah. I’m quite sure that factor played a big role in the process here.
It would appear Georgia faced stiff competition for Fitzpatrick’s services. The Dawgs won the recruiting battle over the likes of Ohio State, Texas, Florida, and Miami. Notice that Alabama wasn’t in that grouping? You can’t say for sure, but not having Nick Saban there anymore may have made life very easy for Georgia to land this one.
Fitzpatrick isn’t the only big time recruit that Georgia has landed during the 2026 recruiting cycle. Most notably, that group includes stud quarterback prospect Jared Curtis. The Dawgs aren’t going anywhere and will continue to remain the crown jewel of the SEC for many years to come.
