Georgia Edge Damon Wilson Enters Transfer Portal
Many players have already found their new change of scenery in the transfer portal. However, there are still impact players that have not found their new home. Edge defender Damon Wilson has entered the transfer portal and he will garner a lot of attention. The former Georgia Bulldog is the second-best edge prospect and the fourth overall player in the transfer portal according to 247 Sports.
In fact, 247 Sports has him as the best available transfer in the portal. The sophomore did not play much his first year on the Bulldogs but he had a better year this season. However, the young pass rusher was behind Mykel Williams and Jalon Walker. Both of those players are likely first-round picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Damon Wilson still displayed his talent as he finished the season with 22 total tackles, 13 solos, 3 sacks, and two forced fumbles. The 6’4” 250-pound edge will look to build on his time at Georgia as he takes the next step in his college journey.
Georgia under head coach Kirby Smart has been a defensive juggernaut. Furthermore, Smart will be able to retool at the defensive line heading into next season. On the other hand, Damon Wilson has a big opportunity to transfer to a school where he can be a focal point on defense. Ohio State is a likely destination as he was heavily tied to the university in his recruiting out of high school. The former five-star will be a splash transfer wherever he decides to play especially since he has multiple years of eligibility left. Ultimately, Damon Wilson is a huge transfer prospect and he can be a home run for whatever program lands him.
