Georgia CB Julian Humphrey Transfers To Texas A&M

When Georgia cornerback hit the transfer portal, it was met with a bit of surprise. While this isn’t technically the first time he has entered the transfer portal (he entered and then came back in 2023), many expected him to stay based on his very solid play in 2024. However, he did enter and On3.com is reporting he has transferred to Texas A&M. Things could be looking up this off-season for Texas A&M.

Julian Humphrey could be just the start of an excellent transfer portal window for Mike Elko. Texas A&M is also hosting transferred wide receivers Nic Anderson out of Oklahoma and Mario Craver out of Mississippi State. Elko did a very good job in 2024, leading the Aggies to an 8-4 record, just one game shy of an SEC Championship berth. Elko is dealing with some transfers of his own, as the starter from last season Conner Weigman has transferred to Houston. Humphrey will be an immediate difference-maker for a secondary unit that finished 89th in the country in yards per game and 57th in yards per pass completion.

Julian Humphrey, a former four-star recruit, was the No. 82 overall prospect in his class. Humphrey is not expected to be a part of the College Football Playoff run for Georgia. With two years of eligibility left, Humphrey will look to anchor an Aggie defense to a potential run at the CFP. He finished his Georgia career with 21 total tackles and five pass breakups. Humphrey showcased significant upside at times this season, and should see many more snaps in 2025, hopefully able to display his upside for the Aggies.
